Co-Hosts for Reform 2025

The Drug Policy Alliance is excited to be co-hosting the 2025 Reform Conference with nine incredible local organizations. Learn more about our co-hosts below, and make sure to register to meet them in-person!

The Great Lakes Expungement Network (GLEN) is a collection of community-based organizations, professionals, businesses, and criminal defense attorneys dedicated to providing Michiganders with criminal records, including drug-related records, an opportunity for a clean slate through record-clearing. We provide fee-free eligibility screenings, full-service expungement services, and resources to help people get a fresh start.
A Network of Sex Workers to Excite Revolution (ANSWER) is a sex worker justice collective led by current and former sex workers who are power-building and organizing for the rights of all people to engage in sex work on their own terms. We dare to imagine a world where sex workers can work safely, free from violence, shame, and stigma. We believe full decriminalization of sex work is an essential part of a broader vision rooted in bodily autonomy, collective dignity, and the freedom to live and work without fear. We stand in solidarity with all anti-criminalization movements, including those working to put an end to the drug war.
The Detroit Justice Center works alongside communities to create economic opportunities, transform the justice system, and promote equitable and just cities. DJC is founded on the belief that we cannot build cities that work for everyone without remedying the impacts of mass incarceration. This mission requires innovative ways of community lawyering—rooted in defensive and offensive fights for racial justice and economic equity—that build up our poorest residents through direct services and novel approaches to land use, housing, and employment. We use a three-pronged approach—what we call “defense, offense, and dreaming”—to serve individual clients, build power, and catalyze systemic solutions.
The Grand Rapids Red Project is a nonprofit that uses harm reduction strategies to prevent HIV, Hepatitis C, opioid overdose, and other harms related to substance use and sexual activity. We provide HIV case management, HIV/HCV testing, harm reduction supplies such as syringe access and naloxone, recovery coaching, and more. Red Project has a longstanding history of advocating for drug policies rooted in both science and love. While our work is shaped daily by the consequences of harsh U.S. drug laws, we remain committed to pushing for evidence-based services that save lives.
Harm Reduction Michigan is a health equity and recovery community organization based in Michigan. Our commitment is to be in community with people most impacted by the collateral consequences of addiction and drug use. Our charge involves re-framing and changing the field of drug treatment and mental health and related social services to address stigma-driven trauma and its effects. Our mission is to decrease substance use-related harms in Michigan, in a respectful manner in collaboration with all people involved. We are dedicated to improving our community’s health and well-being by supporting people in abstinence, moderation, and safer use.
LEAF Harm Reduction is dedicated to enhancing public health and safety through our comprehensive harm reduction program, including drug checking services and community engagement efforts. By reducing infections, preventing overdoses, and providing critical health education, we strive to create a healthier, safer community for all. Through our compassionate and innovative approach, LEAF Harm Reduction is not only supporting individuals who use drugs, but also fostering a more informed and engaged community. Harm reduction improves quality of life through dignity, autonomy, and compassion.
Michigan Psychedelic Society is a community of people interested in the profound role psychedelics play in the expansion of consciousness. MPS offers a safe space to discuss psychedelics, offer education & resources, share information about safe and responsible use, increase awareness, provide integration support, build community, foster relationships with other organizations, and work towards legalization and/or decriminalization. Our organization is based on bringing community together, and everything we offer the community is free. MPS offers ongoing monthly community meetings, special events, and monthly meetings for our Women's Leadership Committee, Practitioner Workgroup, Expanding Access to Psychedelics, and a Mid-West Psychedelic Leaders Collaboration.
Founded in 1941, The Michigan Roundtable for Just Communities is a social and racial justice organization working to eradicate racism, discrimination, and systemic inequities and create a just and equitable Michigan. We believe that collaborative solutions must be pursued to dismantle unequal systems and create equitable opportunity for all, especially the most vulnerable in our society, who are part of the global majority. In these collaborations, we bring together diverse communities to build collectively held multigenerational spaces for understanding lived experiences of inequity and injustice while taking action towards achieving equity and justice through intergenerational leadership development and neighborhood, community, and youth organizing.

We provide harm reduction supplies (including lifesaving kits and testing supplies), train volunteers, and provide educational tools to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all. Our mission is to make Michigan nightlife safer, healthier, and more supportive.
